Plannersphere

a place for planners

what moves you? unrelated to planning, but still very much on the subject

Everybody's so busy asking practical advice that it makes me feel tired.
Finding stimulating things and people, on the other hand, is energizing.
I've been nagging people all my life, asking them for what are their most recent 'discoveries' - nothing sensational, but deep down very important.
So if anybody wants to share some things that moved you recently, I'd be very grateful.
It can be anything - simple, complicated, new or old. And it better be not related to planning (because in the long run everything is).
Also: what was the last time you were really moved by something that you saw, heard or read?

I'd say one name for now - Tin Hat Trio. Try to find their music if you don't know them yet. Bittersweet. Beautiful.
Thank you,
irene/irina

Music -- good music always makes me feel something... happy, sad, excited...something. eg. Vampire Weekend. I just saw them play in a small venue here in Toronto...very intimate and they were amazing.
I woudl say that going to Henry Ford's Rouge in Detroit and The Coors brewery in Denver were both particularly inspirational. As a planner, it really gives you insight into how inspiration and imagination can lead the way towards innovation.
To travel is my main passion because it´s mostly about learning and sharing (fundamental reasons for me to smile). Poetry also affects my mood. This is a scene of a film that recently moved me deeply.

Cusco (Perú) and its people.
I've been in cusco for a couple of weeks and it was one of the most inspirational experiences of my life.
I did "The Inka Trail", walking 4 days among the mountains and Andian jungle to get the MACHU PICCHU.
I was really moved with its people, you know, the respect for all expression of life, the offers to Pacha Mama (Mother earth), etc

Playing soccer with native kids in Amantani (Titikaka Lake Island)
Their dance (check! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvOjMMBb9KM)
Give sincere thanks in quechua language and observe their amazement.

In one sentence "Quechua people makes me move, a lot"
