I'm going to spend about 10 days in Buenos Aires in December, which is really only my second major trip out of the States. This past summer I spent a month in Australia and found that one of the most rewarding parts of the trip was learning about the little nuances and differences of a foreign culture.
If you have any travel experience, I would like to know what you try to take away from your time abroad. What do you try to learn from the people you meet and the places you visit? Have you been able to apply it in any way to the work you do back home? Being an ad nerd and a wannabe account planner I was trying to stay away from this term but basically; what sort of insights do you try to find?
Hi Joel.
There are a lot of things in b.a. that "speaks" of our culture.
just take a walk for a few minutes and you'll can see differences between people, stores, smells...
You know, Buenos Aires is a great place for inspiration!
When I'm abroad I love to read newspapers and magazines. Even if I don't speakt the language. But nevertheless it's very exciting to visualize a new kind of typography, new picture language etc. It tells a lot about the spirit of a city or country.
Besides all: Have a good time. Surely that's the best way to get a big benefit.
