No Peeking

The debate on net privacy rages on. Is it something we can all get used to, or is it the coming of an Orwellian future? Someone pointed out that junk mailers seem to know a lot about us and yet we don't get freaked out by what we get in our letterbox. True, but our email and social networks are more personal than that, somehow.  Even though the letterbox is in your physical home. Maybe it's an age thing. What do you think?See More

Clearly Twenty Billion Neurons Don't Really Cut It

It's hard running a planning department for a luxury automotive marque.

I know. Your heart rends.

But there are just two of us and its a big piece of business.

OK, its not as hard as peace in the Middle East, but I have less people on the job.

So if you're looking for a senior planning role on a brand that's making some waves (albeit not as much as Hamas and Ehud Barak), please write to me. It's less life-threatening than living on the Gaza Strip (slightly) and if you like… Continue

Hi Benny,
Was with TBWA. Infact we did communicate few times over email... hmmm ... not sure if it was during the Tiger Beer pitch or the SIA pitch. Hope it reminds you. Moved to Bates Bangalore few months back. Run a small time Chinese Restaurant. How you doing?

Ah, THAT Roop. The scourge of the Intelligence department ( just kidding).
So you're a planner at Bates?
I moved to Nissan /Infiniti a while ago. Mars to cars. Packaged goods to luxury. Its a noticeable change.
What fiendish experiment are you hatching in the Chinese restaurant? Effects of MSG on motor function?
Apropos of which, a small study in England has suggested slowing down of brain function among heavy cell users. Still to be validated, but I tihnk I can see circumstantial evidence all around.
Talk to you soon - my working day beckons.

It's debatable if Poke-ing is rude on facebook!

Anyways, POKE is the digital arm/ sister agency of MOTHER London/ New York. POKE was started in London and they just opened their Ny office in April.

India vs the US is al ong conversation....but in short, India is all about exploration and discovery - new brands, new ideas, new ways to live - while the US is at the stage where the old rules are meeting the new and creating an odd kind of fusion. Both exciting and very confusing.
