Hi! I am a weird advertising hybrid. My 15+ years in the ad businss includes Account Planning, HR,and Hispanic marketing. I am currently VP of HR for Slingshot. Our vision is to create a new model for ad agencies that don't just talk about the integration of digital/traditional, but who can actually do it. It means that we strategically plan for what is right to build our client's business and then execute using all the tools at our disposal (and maybe creating some that aren't). It is a very hard thing to do as it requires many multidexterous and highly innovative folks. It's my job to find them and keep them.
Hi Jackie, As an aspiring account planner, how can I get my foot in the door? I'm graduating this May with a communications degree with a concentration in advertising. I have two internships, neither have anything to do with account planning (marketing assistant and intern for account managers), but I was lucky enough to take some courses that will aid me with my endeavors - mass media research, buyer behavior, account planning. Any advice?
