Stephen Sumner has over 30 years highly successful Multi-channel retail experience. His experience includes General Manager UK and Europe for Olympus Sports where he was responsible for driving revenues in excess of £275m. In the early 90’s he became European Retail Director for Sock Shop where he was responsible for growing revenues from £25m to £35m over a 2 year period. Stephen went on to build his own 14 strong chain of high end retail footwear stores ‘Constables’, revenues were grown to £3m and the business was successfully sold on. In 1994 Stephen established his own retail, mail order and eCommerce marketing consultancy “VMS”, working with a number of high profile retailers wishing to extend their offer and develop a multi-channel strategy. In 1999 Stephen was invited to launch the highly successful eCommerce strategy and platform for N Brown plc (JD Williams a £600m turnover business) as their Group Head of eBusiness, eCommerce now represents over 45% of N Browns turnover. Following his involvement with N Brown Stephen went on to build a retail consulting Services Company ‘Amity Business Solutions’. In conjunction with his business consulting activities Stephen developed and built one of the UK’s top 5 e-mail marketing platforms e-MSG. in October 2003 in order to achieve a step change in both business propositions he merged his business consulting services with Marketing Innovation Group (MIG). A significant part of this merger was the sale of his e-mail distribution platform “e-MSG” along with the delivery of a high profile client base of multi-channel retailers. (MIG) - Is a data and digital direct marketing solutions business. MIG has several blue-chip clients and household names who are 'locked-in' on long term contracts to provide a variety of data/digital services from within its web based 'Intelligent Marketing Platform'. The IM Platform is made up of several market leading solutions some with patents pending; they empower all types of business, large and small B2B and B2C to adopt more efficient digital marketing techniques.
In September 2008 Stephen exited MIG to form international marketing consulting firms TYV Ltd (UK based) and SSC LLC (US based).
