I worked at BMP/DDB for twenty years with many great planners - I am still fascinated by the advertising business and love to keep up with the planners' art - I have begun a series of salon style dinners at which we have a speaker that has an illuminating or provocative theme;last month,in a private room in The Gay Hussar,Greek Street, Paul Feldwick spoke on Poetry and how it can throw light onto the way we thing about advertising. Fourteen of us, a mixed bunch including Russell Davies,Charlie Snow, Verra Budmilya,Jason Lonsdale and others, heard Paul challenge 'the primacy of the idea' and much debate and drink ensued. My feeling is that Planning has an innate tendency to take itself too seriously in some areas and not seriously enough in others - a theme I hope to develop in these Dinners. Anyway, my business is getting to know Planners so that I can help them in their careers, so feel free to contact me!
Nice to see a fellow BMPer - cut my teeth back there around 1989-1995 TV planner/buyer . Why not take a look at my UK Advertising 'SOCIAL' media site http://mediastarz2.ning.com soon to be renamed www.mediastarz.co.uk and join the growing crowd there. You'd be very welcome.

Excellent idea, that of the salon style dinners that inevitably lead to inspiration!
I emailed you about a month ago and a few days ago, now that I have the dates of my visit to London...
I was (and still am) the girl who escaped from Lenin to Lincoln (I sent you some info).
I'd really love to meet with you.
I'll be in touch before I leave for London so that we could hopefully set a date for our appointment,
Regards,
Irene/Irina
