Faris, Jon, and Mark, thank you. After spending a couple weeks now talking with "experts in tracking" of one sort or another, I agree that it will be a piecemeal model that I put together - ingredient gathering is one thing but then actually stirr...

I just finished my first year at the Brandcenter and I've been interning at The Martin Agency this summer. I've got one more year left but I love all the door that have opened and meeting all the interesting, fabulous people in this industry!
Hi there, just letting you know you're planning blog was one of the first I started reading when I initially was making my career move. Keep up the good work! Take care!
Erin, I don't have a to-do list yet of retail trends to proselytize this year but way up there is contributing to the art of in-store communication. The measurement and technology side is advancing along but retail communication - and here I'm talking about brand not retailer communication - needs to be just as artful and interesting as the environments in which they exist. Or it should raise the aesthetic appeal of a retailer, not clutter it.
Agree with your point on waiting in line, but we need to show how it can be engaging, not just a place for captive media to shout at people. Personally I preach caution when marketing in captive environments unless it is truly an experience that people find valuable and have control over.
I am down in Miami and decided it's time I join this network to get the planning juices flowing. Keep in touch! I want to fill you in on everything as I move through the program.
i hear you on that one - too much time doing nothing does make you question your purpose! at the moment i am freelancing at an agency here in Minneapolis. the agency does not have planning, though. i'm assisting art buyers/producers with various projects (mostly casting for Target commercials/print ads). it's a fun gig for now, but it's temporary. so of-course, the job search continues. fun!
