Need help with a pitch for a super premium jewellery brand (diamonds) aimed at the upwardly living 'youth'; not the bulgari/cartier types, but just under from a lay person's positioning perspective. Strategies done in other markets would be great; any help appreciated. Thanks in advance
Hello Tom, I saw your posting for the emerging media researcher position. I don't know if it's still open, but if it is, I'd love to be considered for it. My email is: nien.liu@gmail.com
Hey Tom, altijd leuk om Vlaamse planners online te vinden. Nice book btw!

I enjoyed your "Advertising is Dead" book...
as for crowdsourcing, I could maybe tell you some curious examples going back to my Soviet Union childhood days...
having escaped from the economy of scarcity to the land of plenty i'm actually graduating from Miami Ad School Account Planning program this week.
I will be in London for a series of informational interviews starting October 23.
Adrian Ho (I worked with him and Rob White recently on a new client pitch) suggested I'd contact you to see if we could meet in London.
Basically my goal in coming to London is to see if there's more room for global creative projects there rather than in the US (global niche brands, translating advertising campaigns, etc.)
I'd be more than happy to send you some PDF from my portfolio (escape from Lenin to Lincoln illustrated) so that you could decide if I'm worth your time
Thank you,
Irene/Irina
Hi Tom. Yes, Meetup is interesting: a new way to do an old thing...create real face-to-face community. We would argue that while online social networks are a good thing and will always have a role, they will never be a substitute for doing something our species has done forever: face to face meeting around common needs or interests. We're powering many of the opencoffeeclub meetings. Think its a very interesting phenomenon.
Do you know Johanna Beyenbach (aka Toykohanna)? She was my former student and is working for Naked in NY. Are you the guy she communicated with while she was at the Adcenter?
May be in London in a few weeks. Hopefully, we can meet then.
interesting profile...I LOVE WONG KAR WAI...would probably have moved to Hong Kong to do anything he wanted me to do for him...clean his house for example...:)
Thanks Tom. I've had a love hate relationship with the name. A name only a planner could come up with - means a whole lot but hard to say. it really is all about that connection between brands and good stories - the way the stories play out now are more complex - a thickening of the plot with technology and empowerment of smaller lines of narrative that were missed before. we spend a lot of time here trying to get brands back in touch with people and connecting with the stories and deepening what is already going on.
Parties? Why not take a look at my UK Advertising 'SOCIAL' media site http://mediastarz2.ning.com soon to be renamed www.mediastarz.co.uk and join the growing crowd there. You'd be very welcome.
